Satirical Poems

Satirical Poetry:
They are poems with a critical narrative. A person, event, situation is criticized with sarcastic words and mocking expressions. Since didactic features are also seen in these, they can also be examined within didactic poetry. However, since it is an open criticism, it would be more accurate to put it in a separate class. In Turkish Literature; Nef'i, Seyrani, Ziya Pasha, Neyzen Tevfik, Orhan Veli Kanık have given examples of the genre. In Western literature, John Donne, John Dryden, Jonathan Swift, Alexander Pope, who presented satirical poems, have found the value they deserve.
