He had a meaningful youth shaped by the deep-rooted traditions of Kabataş Erkek Lisesi in İstanbul. Then, he started his journey of science, technology and innovation with his Electrical Engineering education at Yıldız Technical University. During his university years, he joined the Turkish Music Choir as a chorister and soloist. While living in the perfect cycle of mathematics and physics, life introduced him to the unique, limitless and passionate world of literature. His interest in poetry sprouted in the excitement and perhaps a little melancholy of his university years. For him, poetry symbolized his efforts to discover and understand the depths of his soul. His journey with poetry and his writings became a way of life, a poetic existence. While different projects, positions and cities in his professional life showed him completely different faces of life, he added the spirit of both local and foreign geographies to his poetry. Today, he continues to pursue his profession and poetry as inseparable parts of his life.
The First Breath of Poetry;
The first poem that I can’t forget, that left a mark on me; is Şükrü Enis Regü’s “The Apple Tree”. This poem was in one of the primary school reading books… It is still vivid in my memory. Next to the poem, there was an autumn picture that was appropriate for its content: The Apple Tree, its fruit picked, its leaves shed, waiting for the harsh winter!.. The somewhat peaceful and somewhat sorrowful atmosphere of the lines formed a whole with the Apple Tree. I had memorized the poem, I was reciting the lines by heart while looking at the picture. This memory was perhaps the first spark of my love of poetry!
APPLE TREE
The cold has started again,
The rain keeps falling on you.
The wind is blowing bitterly.
How will you get through this winter,
Apple Tree?
You don't have a shadow to keep you company;
You are left alone this winter in the apocalypse,
No one looks at your face anymore,
Children don't climb your branches,
Birds don't come to your neighborhood.
Don't be sad, these days pass quickly,
You might see spring come.
You'll be beautified again,
You'll blossom again for us,
You'll bear fruit.
